Existing transformer populations represent huge assets and monitoring can be a key factor in the effective use of these assets. On-line monitoring of the moisture content in the oil allows the utility to optimize the transformer loading without undue risk to the transformer.

The DryKeep system provides inlet and outlet by-pass valves that accommodate Moisture-In-Oil monitoring instruments such as the Doble Domino, Vaisala MMT 330 or Treetech MO. These instruments measure ppm and temperature and may be permanently or temporarily installed. The instrument options now include remote monitoring to interface with PC for Ethernet, USB or SCADA systems.

When the inlet and outlet ppm readings at the DryKeep converge, the molecular sieve beads are saturated and the cylinders need to be changed.
